No there should not be a pressure difference between atmospheric and tank internals- so you might also have a blocked/damaged tank vent.

Not familiar with the brand- but sounds like an air leak issue. Pressure and vacuum test to check for leaks arond the engine pan bolting up to the cylinder and main crank seal regions- not sure if it runs a separate impulse line- but that will need checking as well.

About the only ones that work really well and read true for small engines is the snap-on one and you know how much they cost. Not economic for a one off repair. First you need to get into it enough to see the piston, if it is all scored up- may not be worth the hassle- if it is not, then...

Compression readings only count if they are taken with a tester specifically designed for small engines. No way in heck it will run on 75-80 IF that is the true reading. Absolute minimum of 90 psi required to "run" but most require a minimum around 120-125 psi- especially small capacity 2 stroke...

Likely High undie branded- not made by them- bit like the Hitachi branded petrol saws we used to get here.

Odd thing, its the starter side bottom AV area that was busted out- not the more usual weaker clutch side. Only see it from underneath when the starter is on- but the front bottom where the 4th starter fixing goes is also busted off- so 3 screw starter cover now.

Case repairs.

Doubt the oil pump has been out since first put in there. Failed pressure test, new seals time.

I bought a complete running 81 or 88 Husqvarna from the Kapiti Coast last week for a hundy- they are still out there. ;) 066 are 54mm too but takes a lot more to make a same piston than just the outside diameter

I have half a dozen tanks and case sets/bottom ends for 064's- my problem is finding good top ends for them in our part of the World. Have one running a Meteor top end and its nice- just not as nice as the OEM ones. In my opinion- the old alloy air box flat filter is a bit of a let down-...

Another couple of recent bench visitors- same saw kind of. Grey/Black top Husqvarna 61 and Jonsered 625. For all intending purposes the same saws with some slight but serious differences between the two, meaning parts interchangeability is by no means 100%.

Any luck yet? Have the box containing all the service manuals open.....
