Latest one to join the fold- not exactly sure if 181 or 281- not an XP possibly, but there you go.
Might have been made out of a box of parts at some stage, starter side of case has been busted off- bottom AV mount towards rear handle and welded back on- but was done nicely.
Has vivid pen 281 on cylinder- twin thin ring piston, but no ID tag no more.
Arrived yesterday around lunchtime- has been torn down cleaned up and reassembled, with a spare muffler that was kicking about.
Now Im no spring chicken- I was old enough to buy one of these when they were new on shelves- but I have not seen this style of clutch cover before- was there an option for unbraked 181 or 281? All the castings are there for the old metal brake with the rod pinned to the band- but no holes formed?

Quite a tidy saw really. That repairs been done nicely. You probably wouldn't really see it with clutch cover on?

Odd thing, its the starter side bottom AV area that was busted out- not the more usual weaker clutch side.
Only see it from underneath when the starter is on- but the front bottom where the 4th starter fixing goes is also busted off- so 3 screw starter cover now.
