what woods you should not burn in fireplace or wood stove

Heck, if I never burned wood from evergreens, I would likely freeze to death over Winter!

Chainsaw Questions Subforum Used For Helpful Debate?

Some good debates: 1: Chinese copies V OEM. 2: Top end kits- Hyway V Meteor V OEM. 3: Classes of saws in say 10cc clumps- which it best in bunch. 4: Which make of saw has the better air filtration. 5: Which make of saw has the better AV. 6: Above 60cc- .404 V 3/8. Or Sub 60cc 3/8 V .325. That...

    Gifted old poulan

Probably crap in the fuel system, damaged diaphragm in the carb, collapsing fuel line when the vacuum load comes on. Basically a fuel delivery problem, check and replace (if possible to find?) fuel lines, tank pickup filters and carb kit (again, if you can find one). While you have all that...

    023 with a decompression valve!?

Could all be, I was thinking maybe a WD40 type spot spray tube on a can of engine start to reach the inner workings? Hillbilly solder to measure squish? Who knows? It is an old saw and they are always a lottery as to who has been poking at what. Was a one lady owner saw and she told me she...

    023 with a decompression valve!?

So, pulled this wee saw down to the bare bones, cleaned it up, Yamabonded the cap on to the rest of the crankcase/cylinder unit of the clammy shell, did the bolts up tight this time and put it all back together. Saw runs like a wee champ. You might be able to see below, why the saw suffered...

    023 with a decompression valve!?

Found what I thought to be a cheap 025 yesterday, it was online and within easy driving distance, NZ$30 so about US$20 for a complete saw that stopped going and had not been run for about 4 years. So I went and picked it up, pulled the muffler, piston looked okay, no spark- new plug, mediocre...

Chainsaw Questions Subforum Used For Helpful Debate?

So kind of like Chev V Ford, but without the cussing? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Some folk have some pretty strong feelings when it comes to which is bestest.

Is Stihl the Best Chainsaw Brand?

Bit like trying to nail down the best car manufacturer..... but with less choices! Stihl make good stuff. Usually typically German over engineered stuff, but good stuff. Are they the best? Well they are certainly up there with the best of them- but best over all? How about best equal? The...

    Husqvarna 61 isolated case rot

Yup- but there aint nobody in my workshop that possesses them there kinds of welding skills. Easier for me to do a case swap, but you can be sure that old busted up one won't be thrown away. Least you did not suggest some JB Weld.

    Husqvarna 61 isolated case rot

By a stroke of good fortune, a fellow chainsaw fixer upper was driving through town about the same time I knock off work, he rang me and mentioned he had a box on the back of his truck I might be interested in. Long story short- he had bought a grey top 61 online and only wanted the half wrap to...

    Swap out 3/8 for 404

Only ones I have seen over here are "Lewis" chainsaw winches, or from bad to basic homemade copies of the Lewis winch. Some photographs would be interesting.

    Swap out 3/8 for 404

My answer would be yes, for a drive sprocket- should be pretty straight forward. For spur drive, might be a bit harder to find a Homelite clutch bell?- I know GB out of Australia used to have them in stock.

what kind of wood is this ?

True that, with the addition of a match, most all wood can be turned into Ash. :)

    Firewood Processing Setups

I have already welded gussets in, but it is tearing the beam web beside the welds. I just need to make a new push plate more suited to the improvements, that will encase the I beam and be from some slightly more substantial steel than the 5mm (3/16" for you lot) gusset plates that go from push...

    Firewood Processing Setups

Speed is no longer a problem- Honda 11hp electric start and new 16GPM 2 stage pump solved that, valve is okay with the T handle- my biggest problem now is it has the guts to split some gnarly stuff- but not the body to do it. Real ugly knotty crotch wood is bending the push plate and I...

(resolved) Stihl 025 won't turn over with spark plug in

Okay, so from that we can assume the crankcase might have been full of fluids- did it smoke a lot more than usual on start up? It could be that vacuum is still pulling fuel into the chamber after the saw is shut down and put away for a period of time, seeping past the rings as the saw cools and...

(resolved) Stihl 025 won't turn over with spark plug in

Which leads us back to all the other possibilities I listed. :p Now let the fun begin as we try to crystal ball gaze the correct scenario. 😂

(resolved) Stihl 025 won't turn over with spark plug in

First, ascertain that is your problem- is the saw flooding, when you take the plug out is the plug really wet? Turn the saw upside down with the plug out, does a lot of fuel mix come out the plug hole? If the combustion chamber is full of fluid- it will not compress like fuel vapour and air- so...
