If you do attempt it- make sure your insurance covers what you are wanting to attempt before you fire up a saw! Yes, depending on how bad the lean is- it can be done, but not something I would recommend learning on. Best to learn on leaning trees that can fall the wrong way onto clear ground...

Air gap between coil and flywheel should be a business card when the magnets are in contact with the loose coil. Do the magnets still hold a medium sized screwdriver? I would be suspecting the feed wire from coil to kill switch/faulty switch, if that wire is earthing before the switch it will...

As per usual with these wee saws, I will admit to having very little knowledge on them and I also do not test coils with multi meters- so cannot help you much there. Checks for most any saw I can suggest though. Was your lack of spark gradual- or instant? Was the saw previously running...

Other than the out of shape decom- only thing I could fault the saw on was a broken AV spring making it a bit floppy- did not have an appropriate spring on hand, but a rubber AV from a spare 288XP tank fitted good and will cure the problem for now.

Them there yellow saws are like unicorn horns over here- the 2083 and 2077 not far behind, but this is a real nice example and the low compression was nothing more than the decomp valve being bent and fouling the top cover. I have not cut with it yet to give it a final all clear- hopefully main...
