    Cylinder Base Sealants

Base gasket deletes coming on a couple of my saws…I’ve read & watched regarding the cylinder base sealants, but am a touch confused….Three Bond 1184, Yamabond, Hondabond, etc… what, if any, are the differences between them that would cause you to pick one over the others…or are they all pretty...

    2001 385xp rebuild

Good deal, hate emissions 💩 😆. Appreciate the great input, guys….pretty new to Husky’s as I’m used to running Stihls, but made the switch after retirement😉😁

    2001 385xp rebuild

Will give it a go! The vent had nothing attached to it, and neither did the other…looks like it feeds back into or from the air filter itself…

    2001 385xp rebuild

Trying to figure out what lines are supposed to go to these 2 connections on the filter holder as nothing was connected to them…one’s presumably the tank vent? And the other? They’ve got me bamboozled🤷🏼‍♂️

    2001 385xp rebuild

There’s the 3 normal holes that are supposed to be there, but 2 additional through and through holes likely caused by a sharp punch when someone removed the plug for a previous “repair”😆😂

    Show Off Your Milling Setups!

Yeah, moving out of Oregon this month, hitting the road for a year to find a sane place to put down new roots…thinking KY, WV, NC, TN or the like, so will probably need one for hardwood😉😁

    2001 385xp rebuild

Methinks I found the reason why the saw won’t idle, and no amount of fiddling or adjustment will get it to idle…took the welch plug out of the 385’s Tilly carb and…I’m pretty sure there’s NOT supposed to be that many holes!!!…😳🙄. At least I got rid of the limiter on the H jet while I was...

    Saw Break-In

Yeah, seems like the manufacturers are quite vague regarding this topic😆

I’m going back & forth on whether to get a 395 or 3120 for my setup…395 I could use for more than milling, 3120 would be more of a dedicated milling head…not sure🤔😆

    Saw Break-In

So, I know that every guy has his method of breaking in a new saw, much like breaking in a new rifle barrel😉. As I’ve seen everything from “run it like ya stole it” to “pamper & baby the saw for the first 10 hrs”, I’m curious what your methods are & why. Is it saw or brand specific, or are there...

How long does it take to run a slab with that 44?

    Let’s see those axes.

Fiddle a bit with saws too😁

    Let’s see those axes.

Hang ‘em myself so I know they’re done right!😉😆 *Not sure why some of the pics end up sideways🤷🏼‍♂️*

To plug or not to plug…

I think I’ll just go the decomp route for now on the 385 to make things a bit easier machining-wise…is there an alternate decomp from another Husky model that works better than the stock part in a 385? Seem to recall some discussion about it on another forum, but can’t for the life of me find...
