    Firewood Processing Setups

Some half inch plates cut to fit into the channel either side, and welded in place, but before that I would cut some similar plate to weld vertically connecting the top , side and bottom of the channel together, then weld the side plates over the top, connecting top and bottom of channel...

    Firewood Processing Setups

Could you use the splitting ram to split, and use a smaller ram to pull it back, that would speed up the process, only use one pipe on each ram, pull lever one way to split, the other way to pull back in. Another way is to put two opposing rods into the barrel, and split a log at each end of...

Sthil rs pro .325" 1.3mm full chisel narrow kerf chain

I use the SP33G on a 15 inch bar on a Makita EA4300, it works well on that size of saw, but that Stihl chain cuts a good bit faster, I can't get it locally, but I think its too aggressive on smaller saws like the 4300, perfect on 4hp saws, 25% more power standard than my 4300, and even better...

Copy Stihl Chainsaw Problems (Chain to short?)

Obviousely the wrong chain size, the bar should have markings, tell us what they are, 14 i15 or 16 inch bars are available, so there could easily have been a mix up. Make sure you are well covered up with PPE when using a china saw, who flung dung may have had a bad hair day when putting it...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

Removing limiters will void your warranty. But when you go in with a cooked engine because it ran lean, be prepared for the you straight gassed it line. I totally disregard any warranty on a saw, the usual line is you put straight gas in it, and what can you do then, if it were me I would take...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

Very annoying when we pay our money and get what is a damaged product. I think Echo build a good product and can not understand why some saws come like this, while other are rich. I had three SX501 saws, all perfectly tuned from new, one CS352 that seemed to wander off tune, it drove me nuts...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

I would take the Echo CS590, don't muffler mod it until you are sure the saw is not running lean, lean means its not getting enough gas, this causes the engine to overheat resulting in an eventual melt down, caused by the piston to cylinder clearance getting tighter and also the less gas going...

Ported Saws... Lets see your work fellas

That is one heck of a saw, well done, what did you do to it anyway, or what did you do that had the most impact on performance.

    Biting the Hand That Feeds

He obviously had an addiction to two stroke engines, maybe he will meet a judge with the same illness who will be lenient with him, maybe give him 200 hours community service working for Stihl.

    Sachs Dolmar/Dolmar/Makita Chainsaw Thread

What are we all going to do when the parts run out, especially for the more modern Makita / Dolmar saws as there won't be many of those around for part saws. Makita are not making any more gas powered saws from early next year, and I can not see them manufacturing parts for the ones we have...
