Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

The Efco GS line of saws could be good, if they spent more on better materials, the engine in mine seems good, if they used better material in the key that holds the flywheel that issue would be no more, its not a clam shell, it is however bolted into a cheap plastic frame, that frame needs...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

I don't mean to discourage, but this has been my experience. The dealer I bought the saw off could have helped, but said it was perfect when it left his place, not true, he said it was tested, not true, no fuel and not a smidge of oil residue in the tank. I did not trust him, asked for my money...

Gas Husqvarna 450 weaker than battery 80v Kobalt chainsaw. Need recommendation for better chainsaw.

Have you found the issue with the saw yet, why its not pulling the chain, why there is smoke is coming from, the chain oil won't smoke unless the chain is way too tight, you also get smoke when there is not enough oil and the chain is almost stuck to the bar, then what oil is will smoke, in...

Gas Husqvarna 450 weaker than battery 80v Kobalt chainsaw. Need recommendation for better chainsaw.

No chainsaw will work to cut roots buried in the ground, the chain will be blunt in seconds.

Gas Husqvarna 450 weaker than battery 80v Kobalt chainsaw. Need recommendation for better chainsaw.

What torque converter, there is no such thing in a chainsaw. If it low on power it might be related to the chain not being oiled, this will certainly cause smoke and heat, and pull the engine down to nothing, its like driving with the brakes on, how far would that get anyone.

    Best 2stroke oil

This is the first time I have ever come across an oil thread where no one answered, can't believe it, its like oil has become a dirty word, tabu subject, the stuff of history.

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

To me, Efco is the best of the Chinese saws, they are no longer made in Italy, they are not the saw they once were, the GSH are the home saws and the GS are the more up market saws, I would not call them pro. I bought one last year, a GS-520. This model has the habit of shearing the key on the...

Echo CS 345 tank vent location

Tank vent is usually behind the top handlebar on the clutch side, behind the recoil cover, or up top below the filter area in the inbox, I do not think its up top on the saw in question. You have to remove the top handle reach in with pointy pliers and pull out the vent after that handle bar is...

    Stihl MS170 / 180 starting , performance

To be honest, these small saws really cut for their size, I nearly bought one and would have except the carb has no adjustments, this to me is unacceptable. Yes, you can buy a new carb that has adjustable H and L screws, but that is a significant amount of money on top of what you already spent...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

Was accidentally locked out of my account here, so only able to post now. Makita / Dolmar do not care, they have their mind made up. As for parts, even last year when I decided to sell my last two Makita EA4300 saws I could not find parts, I was on other forums, people looking for crank seals...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

Yes, I like the Echo saws, though I found the Makita saws gave more power in stock form and were also good value for money, I had both, liked the Makita saw better. Now am on the Echo brand, really all that is left if you want to avoid Autotune or Mtronic.

Is Stihl the Best Chainsaw Brand?

All manufacturers have good and not so good models in their line up, Stihl are no different. The best saw is the one that your happy to hold and gets the job done without breaking down.

    Fuel mix?

I use Husqvarna XP+ which is fully synthetic, its a good oil at 50:1, I used Echo Power Blend which is semi synthetic, it works well too, I tried Mobil1 2T, not too keen on it, maybe for real hot running saws it would burn cleaner, not in my small 43cc saws though. Your going to get a whole...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

Any engine needs time to bed in and form a proper seal between the ring and the cylinder wall. How long it takes depends on the materials used in the ring and the cylinder wall, and how hard those materials are. What I will say about any Echo I had that with a cat in the muffler need to be kept...

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

Good advise given above. Not surprised the dealer you did not buy the saw off was hesitant in adjusting it. I would have offered to pay him to do the job as he needs to get something for his time, may be that would have resulted in him agreeing to richen the saw up, post a video of the saw...

Stihl already have a disposable line, way more disposable than Dolmar or Makita.

    Sachs Dolmar/Dolmar/Makita Chainsaw Thread

Interesting thought though, would be nice to see a capable company buying them, and keeping on producing, there are a few saw models using their engines anyway, maybe one of them will take over. But, the scarcity of parts is already hitting, that makes me think Makita are emptying their shelves...

    Sachs Dolmar/Dolmar/Makita Chainsaw Thread

A Stihlmar / Stilkita, that would be something, though I would hold back until they proved to be as reliable as the Dolmar / Makita saws were.

    Rattle in new 372XP

Is the brake flag working, not flopping about. The small plastic wings that keep the filler caps from falling off when they are loose, is there a seal missing from the filler caps, is the air filter loose and vibrating. Could there be something inside the front handle that rattles, that would...
