A Redmax G5300, same as a Husqvarna 353 but in red. I ported a 346 cylinder this summer but didn't cut the base so I pulled the cylinder today, cut the squish band/base and cleaned the ports up. Waiting on the Hondabond to cure now.
It could be your starter binding up with the plug in and there isn't enough pressure on it to bind with the plug out. Have you tried to turn it over by hand with the starter off?
I wish I could think of something that would help you out. If it was mine acting the way yours is, I'd pull the cylinder and have a look. You could ask over on opeforum.com, a lot of smart guys over there.
Do you mean that It's phsysically hard to pull over, like the compression has increased? When you looked at the cylinder, did it have a lot of carbon build up on top of the piston? When you looked at the piston, how did the side of it look? Did you check the muffler screen to see if it was...
I'd keep the inner baffel and cut it out to keep from it from melting plastic. On the first one I did I left it out and ended up making a plate to cover up that open spot. The next one I did I just cut the baffel out, last pic.
I havn't ran it since I made the video and I ended up pulling the carb off for another saw. After I finish up with the two saws I'm working on I'll get back to it and see how it does with an ported OEM cylinder.
Two saws on mine, a 034/440 hybrid and a 440/460 hybrid. The 034 bottom end is in good shape so it's just getting painted and the 440 is getting painted and a rebuild, the stained up covers from both got dyed black.
