I have an older 55 Rancher and I wanted to replace the bar and chain with a new OEM. I chatted with Husqvarna online and the tech recommended I purchase a 20” XF-250 bar and SP33G 80 drive link chain. I bought them and found that the drive teeth do not match the catch sprocket on my saw. I also had an OEM S83G 72 drive link chain on hand and found that the drive links on that chain match the clutch sprocket but not the bar. What is the correct chain for the 55 Rancher and is the bar Husky recommended even the correct bar?

55 Rancher- personally I would be setting up with a 16 or 18 inch .325 system- but S83G is Xcut 3/8 I believe, 72 DL fits a 20 inch bar in both D009 and K095.

So it sounds like the drive spur or sprocket on your saw is 3/8- if you want to use the 72DL chain you need a 20 inch bar in K095 mount.

Thank you for the information!
