What brand chain, gauge & pitch does everyone predominantly use? Also full chisel, semi chisel; full complement or full skip, heck, there’s even a special chainsaw carvers chain that IS full house.

X-cut, or just hand me the sharpest one that fits my saws.

3/8 mostly but damnit all if I dont have all 3 gauges. Most are 50 but I use 63 for the mill and the 58 are only around because I havent worn out the bars. The chitty part is I seem to acquire 58 gauge bars for free.

58 guage, 3/8 full chisel on 20 inch bar, 50 guage, 3/8 full chisel on 24". Why, most common in area. You said start with 50 guage, move to 58 as bar wears. Why not just keep bar dressed and rails closed?
