I ran into a problem with a Dolmar 123. Someone was selling air filters for this model on Ebay. They only showed the top photo. He has sold lots of these filters but this is a fraud sale. I bought two and found that they were really for another chainsaw model. My mistake was checking the...
Do you still have the 8200 in stock? I have been trying to get Efco to reproduce the 8200 and the 7300 models again. Many of the other importers are asking Efco to do the same especially since Makita stopped producing this class of machine on March 31, 2022. Thanks, Steven
I looked up all of the brands in the 50cc range. They are all home and farm use models not commercial. The models that I found are Makita EA5001PREL, Efco MTH5100, Husqvarna 450 and Echo 590. I also saw a carburetor kit on Amazon for your chainsaw. I think that you need to go to a 60cc size of...
Makita EA4300 opinion. Makita is required by Federal law to supply parts for seven years after stopping the production of a product. You still have six years to purchase parts from the online parts sellers. I personally am purchasing additional parts for the Makita chainsaws that I still have...
I had a Stihl 460 that would shut down when it got hot and was always hard to start anyway. It was not even four months old when I sold it.
- As for ethanol I have seen dissolved fuel lines and carburetor diaphragm damage in home owner level equipment such as Craftsman chainsaws that I got in...
HI Joe, I will keep that in mind. I have been trying to get Efco to bring back their larger models especially since Makita dropped gas chainsaw production.
Anything longer than 24" would not work. The factory says that only a LoPro 36" bar could work but you would have to change the sprocket. I don't recommend this choice. You will overwork the chainsaw.
I look at chainsaw companies just like car manufactures. If you look on the internet you will see a lemon made by every company and a great car made by each as well. I feel the same with chainsaws. My company is not large enough to sell Husqvarna or Stihl but am selling Echo, Makita/Dolmar...
Hello Tyy, Your assessment about Echo is correct but my company is able to stay open because I work on outdoor power equipment and stereo equipment. The stereo equipment business has been going since 2015 and have many repeat customers. Because I am on the Makita website as a service center I...
Helly Tyy, I will do what I can with what is available. I have dealt with an arrogant Echo rep on more than one occasion and am surprised about his attitude. American business history is full of arrogant companies that did not adapt and went out of business. I hope that this does not occur here.
I will sell Makita gas outdoor power equipment as long as it is available and have begun purchasing Efco equipment. I hope that I can make a go with these two companies. Because my company is a service center for both Makita and Efco now, people come to me for repair on various outdoor...
I have tried to become a dealer with Husqvarna but they want $250,000.00 in sales each year. Stihl is the same. My company is new and still a startup. Both Stihl and Husqvarna have told me that my company is not large enough. Echo wanted a certain amount of display space and $20,000.00 in...
Dolmar was mismanaged by Makita to the point that their sales were down by letting their dealer network atrophy and depending on Home Depot. I hope that somebody buys the factory. They made a good product.
I sell a limited amount of Chinese chainsaws in the larger sizes because the brands that I carry do not offer anything in the sizes that we are talking about. I agree with you on your 36" bars for those saws are good. I was talking about bigger wood than 36" for milling where the two Chinese...
I work with only reputable Chinese factories and have had not problems when ordering parts. The Chinese 070 products are used all over the world for logging and chainsaw milling. The two that I work with are also ISO9001 factories which all of the major outdoor power companies are as well such...
