    Firewood Processing Setups

Cool, US$750 is about NZ$1,100- how much do you think for postage? Is there a USPS box the right size? This far- it might owe me somewhere in the region of $2-300, so $800 of new parts is still a pretty cheap splitter- but then the main I beam is a bit light, the push plate is not mounted up...

    Firewood Processing Setups

So, bit of beefing up and light repairs, new hoses etc. That old home built splitter I got and featured earlier goes and does what a splitter should do- but it is slow, single stage pump and non detent control valve. What to do? Obvious answer is to upgrade the old vintage Sperry/Vickers vane...

The "new" 2186 and her little sister the 2159.

    Jonsered 2186

So I took the saw to work last couple of afternoons- just to cut one trailer load of firewood rings at the end of each day, so less than one tank of fuel per outing. Was "interesting" off the bat. Tune was way off, way rich on the H, lean on the L and a tad low on the idle. Was sold as being...

Site needs a off topic section

Maybe to carry on the 40 something pages of tripe elsewhere on the interweb, see who has changed names to what and joined up where?

Thats why there are bits missing and some carved out of my cover- so it is not there to melt. ;)

    Jonsered 2186

Had a wee bit of spare time this afternoon and this was all I could find to "fault" the saw on.

    Jonsered 2186

Arrived today...... VERY low usage 2186, three Oregon bars 20-22-26 inch, the 22 and 20 need a good dressing up and the 20's nose sprocket is a bit stuck, but the 26 is good. Box of chains, 5 for the 22, 1 for the 26 and 3 for the 20- all Oregon full chisel and between 50-75% filed, so...

Tannerite? Sure as heck did not explode from the inside out- had some help to become destroyed.

    Jonsred625 poulan 3400 (2)

You can have a lot of fun with the 625, the Lime ones are good honest grafters, but not my pick of the three. :p Gave the last Countervibe 3400 I had away to someone here that actually likes that series of saw.

Best saw i owned ill get ribbed for this husky 36

The older 36's were good wee saws- some of the later models leave a bit to be desired and are definitely more consumer grade! I happen to like the Jonsered 2137's that are more Partner/Poulan like than Husqvarna like- I am likely to get more ribbed for that than you are for the old 36. :p

    Good Morning, Afternoon, & Evening

Yeah, I am perhaps not that hands on, only time our cows see a barn- it is to be milked twice a day and they calve in the paddock (fields for you lot). There is the odd one, or a few R2 heifers that need a bit of a hand with rope assist calving- but generally they know what they are doing. 500...

    357 first outing

They are a sweet saw that bats out of it's sub 60cc range- will steal the like of 036's lunch money. For the era they were produced, in my opinion the best 60cc class saws, along with their slightly milder sisters, the 359's.

    Let's Build A 660!

Over here if you want a stronger, or faster, or deeper saw- you just go buy a bigger one. I can't compare numbers or anything- I'm not a porters butt hole- never done one, never claim to know how to. 😁 What I do know though from using them, is the early 066 was a stronger stock saw than the...

    Good Morning, Afternoon, & Evening

Yep, have a couple of not so much orphaned as revived from dead calves here that are being bottle fed. Two out of 640 isn't too bad.

    Let's Build A 660!

So you are going to make a later 660 cylinder behave more like the earlier 066 ones?
