The New Blue (soon in orange) G395

Oh I get why people buy them, can fully understand for a relative low usage hours per year why they would be appealing, compared to the asking price for the genuine article. What I am interested in is how the like of port timing compared to the originals, peak power measurements and delivery...

The New Blue (soon in orange) G395

Not seen one here yet- have not ordered one- do not need one, but figured others might be curious. Arriving rich tuned is not a bad thing- perhaps a whole lot better than some other modern offerings that arrive tuned a tad lean! I could repeat that, but then it would be an Echo. In my opinion...

    Chainsaw Collections

Got all the running Jonsereds out, seeing as how it was a sunny Winters day here.

The New Blue (soon in orange) G395

I see they have been released in the US of A, even the odd mention on youtube. Who bought one? What are your first impressions? What needs done from the get go? Can you compare one side by side with a genuine 395XP?

    Tilted tree

If you do attempt it- make sure your insurance covers what you are wanting to attempt before you fire up a saw! Yes, depending on how bad the lean is- it can be done, but not something I would recommend learning on. Best to learn on leaning trees that can fall the wrong way onto clear ground...

    Oil hose line Echo 351

Nice result! Chalk that one up as a win! :)

    no spark

Often easier with those little rebellious consumer saws. :D

    no spark

Drill turning in correct direction? Drill speed fast enough to educe spark?
  9. Bob Hedgecutter

    no spark

Incidentally-how are you spinning the flywheel to induce spark? With a drill or with the recoil starter?

    no spark

So all 3 coils- no spark with the kill switch eliminated. Same spark plug during the entire testing phase? Brand new or known good plug should be the first port of call, because even if timed incorrectly, a good flywheel at correct speed passing a good coil will create spark. If it is not the...

    no spark

You tested the kill switch by disconnecting the return wire? This does not find a fault in the feed wire to the switch- if you can disconnect that at the switch and trace it back to the coil, you might find a fault. Or disconnect at switch and check for spark- if the switch is broken, this will...

    no spark

Air gap between coil and flywheel should be a business card when the magnets are in contact with the loose coil. Do the magnets still hold a medium sized screwdriver? I would be suspecting the feed wire from coil to kill switch/faulty switch, if that wire is earthing before the switch it will...

Did you have any luck gaining any spark in this saw yet?

    Jonsered 2083

Having said that- if you happened to have a good condition clutch cover and chainbrake assembly for a 2094/2095....... we need to talk.

    Jonsered 2083

Kind offer- thank you, but no. What I have just acquired is the sum total of my needs. The piston and cylinder are like new almost and the shipping of lumps of metal from your part of the World to mine- prohibitive to say the least. ;)

Everything the original Wild Thing promised- but did not deliver- now delivered. :ROFLMAO:

    Jonsered 2083

You must have more of this family of saws in your own personal collection than I have ever seen over here. :D

    no spark

As per usual with these wee saws, I will admit to having very little knowledge on them and I also do not test coils with multi meters- so cannot help you much there. Checks for most any saw I can suggest though. Was your lack of spark gradual- or instant? Was the saw previously running...

    Jonsered 2083

Other than the out of shape decom- only thing I could fault the saw on was a broken AV spring making it a bit floppy- did not have an appropriate spring on hand, but a rubber AV from a spare 288XP tank fitted good and will cure the problem for now.

    Jonsered 2083

Them there yellow saws are like unicorn horns over here- the 2083 and 2077 not far behind, but this is a real nice example and the low compression was nothing more than the decomp valve being bent and fouling the top cover. I have not cut with it yet to give it a final all clear- hopefully main...
