You can get really good performance from a round file if you use it right. A friend had me work on his stock 028WB to get it running, I also hand filed the super dull chain as best as I could, and it ended up cutting so well it was as if it was ported. Both he and I were surprised at how fast it...
Why not on the 395? I was thinking of reusing my 395 gasket since the cylinder came clean off it and just machine the cylinder as normal.
I like 1184, it doesn't set up too fast, but the strings are annoying. I apply it with a Q-tip either dabbing it on thinly to both surfaces, or just applying...
Chainsaws run too hot for Castor oil
Klotz SuperTechniPlate (20% castor "Benol") 50 tanks did this
It still ran well when I took it apart, but the rings were and are to this day still stuck hard in the exhaust side.
I have a friend who could use one. His one and only saw a 355t he uses for general around the house use got pinched in a log when someone else was using it, and they tugged on it until the handle ripped off.
Get you some Cherry and Sassafras and Apple. I've been wanting to try oak. Sugar maple seems good, but use just one tiny little piece because it is very strong, and let the meat rest, perhaps overnight to let the smoke flavor spread out.
I started going to .063 for reduced stretch from big powerful saws, but later found that .063 should not stretch any less than .050. The reason is because they use the same thickness drive links, except on .050 only the lower portion that rides in the bar groove is thinner. Perhaps some brands...
Me too. I've pushed this saw hard for around 15 tanks, and the JB weld has turned dark brown from the heat, but still remains. It is rated for 550degF. I don't know how hot the inner walls of the engine get, but 400-450deg F is the hottest I've seen on any chainsaw cylinder so far. Usually they...
That's probably my doing, I like to run them smooth where they feel like they cut best or fastest. The guys at the removal company I work at repetitively lean on them until they almost stall, let off, and repeat.
Just for fun experimenting with this farmertec kit ms250, and also to see how well...
