    Jonsereds 910E

910E I bought around 6 weeks ago, way up in our other Island- got a buddy to pick it up and send it down- arrived yesterday. Basically all there, few wee minor glitches- wiring to spark plug coil trigger is a mess, muffler rusted and been brazed before, missing filter cover nut, cracks in filter...

    Jonsereds 80

Have one already- but another arrived at my doorstep yesterday. They differ in slight ways, mainly around the recoil starter. Has the usual missing bits and broken bits where it comes to 1970's plastic, but is otherwise 99% complete and runs.

    New to me 2055 Jonsered.

A fellow chainsaw enthusiast from up top of our other Island, sent me this the other day. He rescued it from a recycling centre! 2055 was a hotrod of its day (1994), replaced another hotrod in the 2051, which had a red light timing system similar to the 066 Stihls- turns roughly 14.500rpm. 2054...

    Danarm 1-71-SS

Picked this up a couple of weeks back, just so happened my better half was in the right part of the Country to collect and return to a new forever home. Danarm- so British, made in Stroud Gloucestershire. 71cc = 2"X 1 3/8". From around 1973/74 (1974 on the original instruction book that came...

    Todays finds

Went for a wee drive today, came home with four old saws. Homelite Super XL 923 or 925. Echo 60S that is running or rather fitted with its scrub bar attachment and circular blade- seller yet to find the bar and clutch cover. Stihl 012. Echo 280E.

    Another 2094......

Swapped a low top 288XP today. Has a few "issues" like the busted wrap mount, busted starter pulley, busted choke pull- but nothing too major. I think the first ever 2094 I have seen here that does not have the factory side fitted decomp valve and has been retro fitted with one in the top.

    Jonsereds 80

Had the opportunity to pick up another Jonsereds at the weekend, first points ignition one I own and only the second one I have seen for sale here in the last 5 years or so. Was part of a storage locker clean out, was VERY cheap, basically complete (only part missing is the kill switch) and...

    McCulloch 7-10 Automatic.

Bought a bundle of five saws off marketplace last night, for $50 of ours (USD $28:57), in amongst the lot was an old 7-10 Automatic, well dusted up to the point I was guessing what it might be off the one photo I had- was guessing 10-10, but no, the big brother. Thats as advertised- and yes...

    PM 340

Latest saw to join the stable- was the very first chainsaw I ever ran- belonged to my Dad and is as old as me I believe- around 55 years and it still runs. Pretty sure the starter handle is the only non original part.

    Granberg Double Ended Bar

Picked up a bar on the cheap last week- old school Granberg double ender, guessing it is what they class as a 56 inch? Not sure how they are sold or measured- but it is 1425mm overall- so my maths makes it 56 inches overall, actual cut length with the helper handle on would be around 48 inches...

    New To Me MS 362

Found locally- and where I live there are only about 1100 in town, looks a bit rough, missing some bits- but the price was right. Have parts on order to make it all correct again. It is one of the pre m-tronic ones- came with no spark plug fitted- showed spark on a "bulb" elcheapo spark tester...

    New To Me 075 AV

Took a bit of a risk, bought an old Stihl 075 online- mainly because the price was right (under $50 USD) and it apparently ran. When it arrived- it had no clutch fitted, just the oil worm drive. Borrowed an old 051 clutch and drum off a wreck in the workshop and we have a winner. Still needs...

    Husqvarna 525T

Just picked up this wee fella on the cheap last week. Ex arborist saw, had been to the shop umpteen dozen times (for the same issue) and had been dropped and the top handle broken/replaced, but basically it spent more time bogging on full throttle than it did running the chain at full...

    Yesterdays playtime.

Took a couple of saws out for a run yesterday- had to process some logs into lengths that could be tractor shifted, some Pine (softwood) and some Macrocarpa (semi hardwood), varying size from around 15- 28" logs. Took an old faithful in the form of a 670 Champ Jonsered and freshly built 064...

    Jonsered 2255

By now you probably have guessed, I have a bit of a Jonsered thing- or a thing for Jonsereds. ;) The latest to join the fold is a broken down 2255, which is from the end of the Jonsered era and basically a Husqvarna 455 in red and black. Was sold to me on the premise it does not oil- yet had...

    Older Dolmar

Went to a garage sale pre sale last week. People leaving a farm to move to town, planned to have a garage sale in town but too much to shift- so offered it to locals first. There were a pile of cheap bulk store small saws I left behind- a Stihl 192 top handle they were (in my opinion) asking too...

    The Other Red Light Saw.

Arrived in the mail a few days ago- I never bought it, never ordered it and knew nothing about it- till it arrived. When they were new on the shelf, I did look seriously at one, but settled for the much lesser and much cheaper 2045 at the time, regretted it ever since. This thing is a pocket...

    Jonsered Play Day.

Had a few of the Jonsereds out for a play today- started with 2094, rocked a chain on a hidden in bark rock on the first cut. Went to 2077 with a 28 inch bar- did okay in semi dry Gum- but not great. Went back up to 2186 and found a more happy place. Used to 670 Champ to noodle up the rings too...

    Online Risk Buying

Took a gamble recently- Husqvarna 288XP, online- limited photographs- advertised as a redundant running saw, no longer needed as wood fire removed and heatpumps installed. Price was attractive (around $60 USD), so I took the risk- no way it was running- has a reasonable muffler, falling spike...

    81cc Husqvarna

Latest one to join the fold- not exactly sure if 181 or 281- not an XP possibly, but there you go. Might have been made out of a box of parts at some stage, starter side of case has been busted off- bottom AV mount towards rear handle and welded back on- but was done nicely. Has vivid pen 281 on...
