Some weeks back, I agreed to buy and paid for a sight unseen saw for the princely sum of $10 of our dollars- that equates out to USD$5:92 or similar.
Yesterday I had the chance to collect it.
Was advertised as.......

It’s all there Team, did work with good compression. New carbie there also just needs cleaning and put together.

Pick up location- not a few hundred meters from about as far South as you can get on the New Zealand mainland, spit and you can hit the Ocean.
So, we know its in bits, we know it has possible fuel issues with the "new carbie" or air leaks that a new carb was purchased for, but did not cure.

So, what does $10 get you? It gets an old fish bin with a pulled apart Husqvarna 350.

So, we get an exposed to salt laden air 350 that has at some stage of life had an oddball cylinder kit and a broken plastic manifold retainer.
Maybe the clip broke with the original cylinder- air leak took out the top end and a new top end was fitted, started burning that one up and the carb was suspected? That did not fix things so pull it apart and find scoring on the piston and well worn sections of ring- at that point give up, chuck it in a bin and sit it on a shelf?

I do not know- but that looks likely to me.
Did come with both original and replacement aftermarket carb- 3 reasonable good (although rusty) chains, bar in fairly good wear condition- but rusty and there was a good mini wire brush in the bin- plus the bin! $10 well spent! :ROFLMAO:

The Husqvarna 350's suffer from three main problems.
1: Plastic manifold clip breaking
2: Loose engine pan to cylinder riser bolts
3: Muffler coming loose and burning top of oil tank.

This saw suffered all three!

Every possiblitity this one can run again with a couple of parts.

But this one arrived today and was $10 cheaper. Was taken to a Stihl dealer about 200km up the road from me, they did a pressure test- called "leaking oil seals" and quoted $450 to repair. Owner said no to that and bought a battery saw off them!

Well, 350 number 2 that arrived in the cardboard box is good to go.
Had to borrow some bits from the first $10 saw, this one was missing a cylinder riser bolt and all the internals of the clutch cover that make up the brake system. But all in all a pretty simple fix.
Still awaiting some parts for the $10 to arrive.
