Good afternoon guys! I have kind of a strange question. I have a Stihl MS462 and I recently purchased a new chain for it. I had a yellow marked high kickback chain but put a green low kickback chain on it. It is 3/8, 050, 84DL same size as the yellow high kickback chain. Is the chain supposed to be flush with the nose sprocket or slightly raised? I've never paid attention to it before until I put this new chain on it. Once I have the chain tightened down , it's smooth as butter when testing it buy hand. But I did not know if there normally would be a gap on the nose sprocket where the chain did not ride flush against the nose bar. In other words you can slightly see the drive links where it rides the sprocket on the end of the nose bar. I put a picture in here so you can see kind of what i'm talking about. Thank you for all of your help!

In my way of thinking, pretty normal and once run a bit, you might find it settles into a more conforming shape.
Put your old chain back on and see what the gap looks like- nose sprockets wear and need replaced once in a while- but that one looks pretty new.
The nose sprocket and drive sprocket will be wear mated to the old chain, if wear is not excessive, the new chain should settle into that form with a few tanks of gas through the saw.
