hi does anyone know if a coil from any other saws will fit my s55? thanks

Guessing no spark- so therefore it must be coil?
Does the S55 not have a chip under the handle? They are what usually fail first- the coil itself is probably fine and the chip can be replaced with a NOVA one.
Or, I believe (not done so personally) the self contained coil that does not require a chip of any form, from a Husqvarna 50,51,55 Rancher will work with your flywheel- you only need the wire from kill switch to coil- no wire to and from the chip.
May be easier to find used Husqvarna parts in Scotland?

update on p55 ,although i tested the coil plug wire and checked out ok,it was the problem was indeed the wire to the plug,renewed it now plenty spark
