I would like to try chainsaw milling. I've been offered to buy a Partner 420. I'm trying to find a guide bar of around 24" that would fit the saw. Do you have any suggestions?

For my money, an R420 is a little small for a 24" bar and milling- but I do not live in Finland- guessing you are mainly cutting slow growth fairly small diameter softwoods?
If that is the case the old 65cc saw might do the job?
Parts are a bit hard to come by though.

Yes, mostly spruce and 12" - 20" diameter. I know the saw is a little on the small side. But I'll get it for 50€, if I'll just find a bar it will be a cheap way to try how it is to mill. If I get excited I can get a bigger saw.

Then get a really good quality chain and keep it razor sharp at 10 degrees on the top plate.
