By now you probably have guessed, I have a bit of a Jonsered thing- or a thing for Jonsereds. 
The latest to join the fold is a broken down 2255, which is from the end of the Jonsered era and basically a Husqvarna 455 in red and black.
Was sold to me on the premise it does not oil- yet had had some fairly major chunks pulled off of it and all of it in a box- not reassembled.
It was cheap, it looked fairly complete- I already own one so this one at worst case scenario could become a parts donor, came with two bars and chains- and a "bonus" Chinese Havik saw.
It also helped I was due to drive past the sellers town to an airport for other than saw reasons.
So, after collection and payment, it sat in the back of my truck for a few days while I was away getting repaired and it was not until I flew back in, drove back home I was able to give it the once over.
Was typical old saw dirty- plug was fairly dirty- but an NGK so there is always hope. Cover shield for the oil pump has been well chewed up- not unusual for these.
Clutch needle bearing was missing some needles- so I borrowed one from a Husqvarna 345 wreck.
Saw fired and ran off prime- but was revving too high to be good.. With limiters on the carb still- there is limited play available to homeowners- so I guess they tried tuning by the big screw at the bottom that controlled the idle?
I suspected air leak- but no, it tested out tight as a drum.
Was true however, the saw did not oil - removal of the pump soon showed why.
Oil delivery hose packed with fine sawdust. Easy enough fix.
So, in all- I used a secondhand clutch bearing, removed limiters and tuned the carb, cleaned the oil system, deburred the bar and fitted the chain, put it all back together cleaned up and have another running 2255 for $50 of our dollars ($30 USD) and I have not even looked at the Havik yet!
