This thread is to follow along with this crusty old 2071 that came straight out of the junkpile. It was locked up, dirty, and tired. This build is going to focus on making a full custom worksaw. There is tons of work going into this one but little to no money as I will be using as few new parts as possible. I'll update this build as it progresses, albeit it slowly, it will morph into a saw eventually. I am currently part way through this build, so I only have pictures of some of the hoops that had to be jumped to get to where it is now. I will make more of an effort from here on out to get more pictures.

Very nice, you made room for crank stuffers, Where did the stuffers come from?

Lots of pictures here to partially understand what's going on. It's a 575 stuffed crank to start off with, this is what many of this pictures are about is getting this crank in that saw and some of what is involved in that process. Also pictures of making a piston out of a scored 272 pistons for a 51.4mm cylinder. Lots more work coming that you don't want to miss. Custom head etc.

Wow! I totally dig this project.. I’ve always wanted to stuff a 372. Love the windowed 272 piston turned down for the XPW cylinder idea (if that’s correct) that’s fantastic and the fact you’re sharing it too.

You're correct, it's a beat up 375k cylinder. The focus was to exclusively use what most would classify as not usable parts for this one for fun and the challenge. I wouldn't use any of this stuff on someone else's saw or one I intended to sell, just a fun project to see how far things can go. Next up will be making a head for it, hoping to get back on it soon.
