My wife and I retired here a few years ago. We have a small place (less than 8 acres) with some woods. My activities here include yard and garden work, and supporting a wood stove which supplements oil heat. This forum covers my interest in chainsaws, firewood, logging and thing that go with them, I'm sure there will be a lot to learn.
I work on the saws, the Stihl MS211 and Husky 445, have owned the Stihl for 15 yrs or more and pretty soon I'll have the starting routine down pat. The Husky is easy, just rips the cord out of my hand a few times before its done. Hand filing - will I ever get it good twice in a row?
Being outdoors, near the trees, earth, seems an important experience to me.
