Evening!

So, I’ve got the itch to tinker with my 372xt after watching pretty much all of AFC’s videos on the saw in question. My plan is:

-Mod muffler (done)
-Base gasket delete
-Gut stratification dividers from air horn & intake boot (but leave the carb innards be)
-Profile cylinder intake (knife edge the 2 ports to favor the bottom)

Down the road, I’ll likely convert this saw to a 51.4mm 372xpw OE, or just a 50mm 372xp OE, but with port work & other modifications.

Questions:

-Have any of you done this modification successfully?
-What gains are likely to be seen from modding the stratification dividers, and is it worth the effort?
Long term input or reviews on saw’s built/modified this way are most welcome!!
Thanks much!😁

I've got one that I did it to but it was with some port work so I can't say that just removing the dividers by it self will do anything. Give it a try and if you don't like it you can always go back to the way it was.

Appreciate it! Likely the best bet for me would be to gut the the 2 plastic parts, but leave the cylinder intake grinding until later, just in case😆. I’m really interested in going full OE on the thing, but perhaps buying a good set of used OE cases and starting from scratch would be more fun😁
