Pretty sure I need at least a kit in the carb. Stihl wants $75 for a new carb. Not sure the saw is worth that expense. Has anybody had any good experiences with the Chinese replacement carbs. I have one on my ms 250 and it seems ok. Or how about an Ebay kit? Thanks for t he help in advance..

Which carb is in your 024 now?
Kit should be easily enough found- but a lot of people swear by a bath in an ultrasonic cleaner.
We do not have E fuel here, so do not suffer many of the associated problems that seem to plague saw fuel systems in R fuel countries.

I guess it depends on the rest of the saws condition and its value to you as to if $75 is a bit steep.
Chinese carbs, in my opinion and experiences with- can be very hit and miss- usually erring more towards the miss.
Ebay kit unless a genuine Tillotson or Walbro are likely to be Asian clone kits,

Saw has a walbro carb. I can't seem to see any numbers on the carb except D 16

I will look into that. I am thinking with the gasket/ diafram kit and the ultrasonic cleaner I may be able to get it to run. It belongs to my neighbor. Thanks.
