Got a problem Partner

I got to replace two pawls on my Partner R435....oohhh nooo. I have searched for parts for similar models husqvarna wants me to buy a new chainsaw phaha After I asked. Three solutions I have thought of. 1. find some zinc alloy with the same thickness and fabricate the pawls myself 2. Change the flywheel all together. 3. Getting lucky to the chainsaw gods because I ain't giving it up. The story is my great uncle gifted it to me as it was just sitting there in the shed, he said if I got it going. I could have it that same day, I looked at it fixed the cracked fuel line, oil line. and she went before tasting her new owners blood ( just a knick on the thumb) however after a couple of days and a few test runs, pawls snapped what would yall do? maybe I don't know everything.

Not 100% sure, but possibly the same as P80- R35- other R435's. There will be parts out there, just have to find them.

Might be best to figure out why it happened and correct any resistance to the starter working. Pawls do not "snap" for no reason.
Its an old saw and odds are way overdue a full rebuild and replacement of all the wear items.

yeah it would be nice to find parts necessary or even swap out parts to suit. imo they were too tight to the spring and flywheel, thus causing the pawls to give out, a rebuild would be okay when, if the budget allowed. I appreciate the thought. keep y'all posted.

You mean the pawls were were not free on their studs? Fixed too tight to the flywheel and were not returning to station?

Or perhaps, lack of use and sitting for a long while they were not exactly freed up on the pivot points and did not inertia out of the way with the saw running.

could have been... it idled fine, was able to test run it on some decent hardwood (redgum) solid stuff. i have been in contact with an engineer, he said "he'll be a couple of days but, he'll could reverse engineer the parts. fingers crossed. sweet Jorsered btw. i personally love old chainsaws.
