My new saw freezes after cutting several logs from wood chips invading the bar groove and end star. This happens with various chains, tight or loose. It’s very frustrating. Any suggestion?

Personally- I would be asking questions of the HIPA chains you are running and if they are anywhere up to spec on the drivers.

When everything is correct- chain suited to a good condition bar- the drivers literally self clean the groove in the guide bar. So, by your photographic evidence I might assume something is not correct- splayed or worn bar rails, incorrect chain tension, incorrect chain gauge, incorrect driver shape/design to fit the bar rails and groove, worn out spur drive- this rounding soft Chinese chain drivers.
