so i got a husky 2100, and i could not find a carb for it at all. i found that someone put a 395carb on one and ran great. i had a 660 carb laying around and modified the intake block for an impulse port and put the carb upside down. i was impressed with how it turned out and ran really well.
is there any difference between the size of the 2100 tillitson carb and a walbro 660 carb?

Never done it, never had the need- but did similar recently swapping the carb from a Stihl 051 onto a Mac 125 Super Pro.
As long as jetting and Venturi sizes are similar, my guess it will work, but you loose the safety feature of the governor.

my old 2100 carb i deleted the governor but i swapped that carb onto my pro mac 700, and im considering racing this saw. i have to get a new piston though because i melted the old one with the original carb
im not sure which one to get, proline which is made in brazil or one thats made in taiwan

I have heard the one from Dukes works- they offer moly coated ones and plain.
Personally have never tried a non OEM and still have a late 2101 piston new in box in reserve.

Exhaust side? With visible piston locator pins?
i remember putting to caber rings in it several months ago and ran 4 tanks of gas through it when it had the irginal carb and it did run really hot, and i heard if it gets hot it tipically scores the exhaust side of the piston, its still runs though atm i just sanded the piston a bit and re honed the cylinder but i will replace the piston

They dont run real hot unless something is real wrong as a rule- and Husqvarna recommends 33:1 for them.
Properly tuned, leak free and sharp chains- should not overheat.
Delete the governor and tune lean to get some kind of max rpm and then some- then you might be in trouble.
