82 builds a 272 out of an ugly 61

Put this one together last winter. Grabbed my ugliest(at the time) 61 chassis off the shelf and combined it with other parts I had laying around.

Hyway Nicasil popup top end. And the needed intake block and screws. Running a HS224 from a 266XP rather than the 61's HS163 carb.

Ended up at .0195 Squish, exh at 100, transfers at 122, intake at 78.

I kind of fail at stopping to take pictures. There's a bit more info on this one on video.

There wasn't a single good cover bolt in the cases, and I had an A/M 272 cover laying around, so I drilled and tapped for it.

I initially put it together with a 266 style muffler and filter:

But swapped it to all 272 stuff to match the cover:
