Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Am nearly set on buying an Echo CS4310, it has the automotive style filter, will do more research now, especially regarding filtration before I commit.

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

I do not understand this, it looks like there is no top on that filter above where it sits on the carb elbow, if so then it is sucking in air without any of it coming through the air filter.

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Some times its the simple things, hope you get to the bottom of this, that has to be dam frustrating, cleaning a filter that often.

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

You could still see the 450 on to a collector, plenty of parts still on it. that bar looks like it did not do much.

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Just seeing this, it does not look like the same filter that comes on the 501P or 4910 which are pretty much the same saws, if I recall mine was flat at the bottom, I sold the saw so can't confirm, but I do not recall a shape like this, the O-ring on mine sat on the elbow coming up from the...

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Just realized, the picture I posted must be wrong, the site has the wrong image of the saw up. Did your saw have the round airfilter, the 450 we get here does. The 450 we get here looks a little different, the handle comes off with less screws, Yours is a V the ones here are newer and are the P...

Stihl MS391 chainsaw problems starting…Advice please

Good to hear, clean the end of the crank where the flywheel sits on very well, Nail Polish remover / Tesco, don't think Aldi keep it, am in Ireland. Clean the inside of the flywheel bore very well, and find the correct torque setting for the flywheel, I add a dot of locktiite around the key...

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Is the saw your retiring like this, if so, would you recommend one, they have the full split case, which I like over the clam shell type, they seem a slight bit heavy, and any video I have seen on them they seemed to have more torque / power than they are advertised to have.

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

I never seen a filter get clogged in such a short time. The nylon mesh type might not hold onto the dust as much as the flocked type, maybe try one of those. Look at the size of that hole in the side of the case in the picture above, I blocked that 10 mm hole on the side of the case, its where...

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Wow, that looks a mess, is this the nylon mesh type, or the flocked type filter. Mine were all nylon, those flocked ones don't work well in moist conditions. Do you pull the choke on before removing the filter, this will keep anything falling off it going into the carb. Does that coating of what...

Stihl MS391 chainsaw problems starting…Advice please

The OP never mentioned cleaning the Cylinder, he said he cleaned the Piston, so yes, could be still suffering from a cylinder with aluminium smeared onto it, that could also be responsible for the good compression he got when he says saw can hang from pull cord without turning over, I hope am...

Stihl MS391 chainsaw problems starting…Advice please

Gas with ethanol is in all the pumps here / Ireland. I use Aspen with a little more oil added to break in new saws. But there is anything up to 20% ethanol in the fuels here, most suspect more. My first issue with it was when my son half filled his quad, and left it for 6 months. Went to run it...

Stihl MS391 chainsaw problems starting…Advice please

There is known problems with these saws. You need to take off enough parts to see the carb butterfly, and the smaller butterfly above it, the small butterfly opens along with the main butterfly in the carb when you pull the throttle, what happens is, when you let go the throttle, the small / top...

Echo CS 4910 air filter issues

Can you post a picture of the filter or a video. I have had 5 Echo saws, none had filter problems, but I did find a way to keep more dust out of the carb box on two of them, by putting some nylon pot scrubber material in the bottom of the box of one, that stopped the particles coming up to the...

I will do, not going to let them away with refusing warranty, telling lies and false advertising, which is what they do, they make promises to stand by their product then hide when the time comes and do nothing.

Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf vs Husqvarna 460 Rancher

@schneiderschainsaw Just to update you on the trouble I was having with Efco. It is now almost a year since I bought the GS-520 off their dealer in Ireland. Efco put me in contact with their Irish Importer, who I had to contact as they never bothered contacting me. When we spoke, I said I fixed...

California bans small gas-powered engines ... including chainsaws wtf

Well I was promised a warranty and got none, I was promised two free chains for their fu**up and got none, and I emailed the boss in Italy again and got no response. You are in for a real headache with this lot, through the years Emak / Oleo Mac / Efco have screwed their dealers and customers to...

California bans small gas-powered engines ... including chainsaws wtf

I would still suggest having nothing to do with Efco. Remember I posted about a new saw that never went right, the dealer would not take it back, or send me a part for it, even though it was broke from new and still under warranty, the dealer just kept on ignore my emails. I contacted Efco /...

    Greetings

When you said you fixed small engine stuff, I though generators, the older ones used to be twin bearing, instead of just a bearing on the back, and the shaft sitting into a taper on the engine. Not easy to find now, that's why I asked.

The New Blue (soon in orange) G395

Yeah, and the chinese now have the fasted train on earth, the TUV cert would clinch it for me, not saying the 9001 chinese company is bad, takes time to sort the good from the bad, and it seems your doing that, getting away from the usual suspects, there is simply too much going wrong and its...
