    Lathe pics and tricks.

I too have a uni-plate that I've drilled holes where needed to fit multiple cylinders. At first I marked the holes per the model of cylinder but I've since lost track. I always thought of a one plate fits all with slots but there are so many cylinders with non symmetric bolt patterns you'd need...

That would probable work out really well using a loose fit tap to get extra misalignment. I use 1/4" all thread machined down and threaded to 5mm for most cylinders. With a few lengths of studs I you could do about any cylinder.

Does anyone make a decent chainsaw?

Ethanol can hurt the carb of it sits for a few months or it will harden the diaphragm faster than pure petroleum. Really ethanol can eat into aluminum over a long period of time. E85 rated vehicles are all stainless fuel systems or at least hard anodized aluminum.

I wouldn't base my opinion on a home owner level product. They are produced for the throw away user.

    Husqvarna 1100 CD

That's an interesting leather mitten you got attached to the handle. I guess any extra AV on those old beasts is beneficial.

So the 1100 should have had the Bosch flywheel and coil?

    Porting pics and tricks

Chamfering ports? Often people try to use a 90deg for that. I find it easier to use a narrow straight handpiece and a 3/8 fine ball diamond. Maybe a 1/4” for really tight corners on upper transfers.

    088 crankshaft repair

I've fixed them with the crank out in the lathe or repaired just a small chip with the crank installed and finished it by hand. Never thought to spin the whole thing in the lathe. Nice work!
