Hi all,

My name is Ivan, I`m from Argentina and I`m new here.

I`m repairing my Oleo Mac 261 Automatic chainsaw and can not make the chain oiling system work, I see little or no oil coming out from the outlet hole. Changed the oil pump and it`s o`rings and no good results.

One inquiry, does the oil pump cam needs to be fitted in an specific position on the cranckshaft? I mean, is there an specific angular position of the lobe relative to the connecting rod journal? I`ve been thinking about this as another option but i`m not so sure. When I dissasembled the chainsaw for the first time I did not record it`s position and also didn`t pay attention on it when I reassembled it.
Another question, do you guys have any repair manual for this chainsaw?

Thank you!

Not a model of saw I am entirely familiar with, but I would be checking the alignment of drive gear off the crank to the worm drive of the pump- are they in good condition?
If all seems well there I would be running diesel or diesel/oil mix through the system to see if a thin fluid pumps and hopefully cleans the internals.
Could be a simple as a blocked oil line pick up filter.
Another check is if the oil tank breather is blocked or not working- if air cannot get into the tank to replace the oil pumped out- no oil will be delivered.
Not sure there are any online manuals for these- but you can also search Olympic or Olympyk saws.

This is the style of pump it does have, on the left bronze side there's a piston moved by a cam that is fitted on the crankshaft.
I've already checked the filter and the lines, they are not blocked. The oil tank breather is well to.
I've been trying with ISO 40 oil, maybe it's too heavy for the pump? 1000258570.jpg
