I replaced the fuel line on this saw. I doing so a piece in the tank came out of it's hole
in the tank (pictured). I tried and tried to get it back in from inside the tank NO LUCK. In the hole is what I thought was a screen but now not so sure. What is it?
It is the duckbill for the tank vent.
Without it, air and indeed fluids are able to exit the tank- this should not be the case- it is a one way valve to allow air in to replace the fuel going to the carb.
Well- no, just guessing here as I dont play around with these wee rascals much- there should be a breather of some type in the hole with a nipple on the tank side that duckbill mounts to.
Will see if I can find drawings.
Parts lookup and repair parts diagrams for outdoor equipment like Toro mowers, Cub Cadet tractors, Husqvarna chainsaws, Echo trimmers, Briggs engines, etc.
Bob, thank you for the diagrams. I guess I'll go through the tank with a wire and push out the plug at the top. Then put in the duckbill followed. by the plug
