I just wish that I knew about that seller and the differences between the OE and the XT. But now with my financial situation and the fact that I’m no pro I’ll just have ta deal with what I got.

But I can handle it!

It was between a 372 OE and a new compressor. At the moment, I need that compressor a bit more, but I hope to be able to do this in a couple of months!

Well, they are old-school saws that can be made to run very strong and more importantly last awhile no doubt The price point is a bit more than I anticipated sir. A 585xp is rumored to be $1219 and the 592xp autotune $1319 not including tax. That’s for a brand-new saw with warranty that (from what I can tell at least) runs “hot” right out of the box and state of the art AV. Even paying NY tax I’d walk out for under $1450 from the dealer (less if from the right one pho)

I agree, if you want something for work and daily use it'll be better to pick those models you mentioned. These old ones are usually preferred by collectors or folks who own a couple complete or parts saw where they'll be stripping parts off the old ones and fixing themselves in the future. That way they save a bunch in the long run, you're not gonna like the bill when the new gen stuff breaks down

Plus that plane shipping is around $140-$170 now for the Big saws. Last 2 I had shipped.

Folks forget that you include the shipping cost in prices.

I get what your saying however for the xtra $250 the 592xp will put the hurt on that 288xp stock-plus you get a state-of-the-art brand new saw with warranty. Even the 585 carb version will be superior to the 288xp. I can get ALOT of torque out of the 572xp and the cylinder design looks similar on the 592 and 585. Only difference is the cast transfers instead of the removable caps on the 572xp. Thanks but $1200 for a 288 vs $1450(?) for a 592xp is no contest
